The Importance of Mobility: Get That Booty Movin’

It probably goes without saying, but these booty gains can’t grow between two couch cushions.

You’ve got to get up and work on your mobility! That’s not just about flexibility, but your functionality and ability to move freely. Mobility is all about muscle strength, range of motion, and endurance.

But what does that mean for your weight gain journey?

Improved Mobility = Improved Workouts

As much as we’d rather lounge than exercise, it’s still an essential part of your weight gain journey. With increased mobility, you’ll be able to squat lower, run longer, and train harder so you can hit your goals easier. The path of least resistance isn’t always a bad thing…

Improving your mobility also means putting less strain on your body so the gains are maintained, and you can show them off for years to come. Mobility is directly linked to longevity. The more functionality you have, the longer you’ll be able to use your body at full capacity.

Let’s break it down even further.

More mobility means…

  • Strengthening your joints to prevent injuries
  • Increased muscle activation
  • Relieving body tension
  • Improved posture and body awareness

EatUp knows our fellow women love a good tip to hiding age on the face and body.

Psst…mobility is a big one!

When your body can do more even while it ages, you’ll maintain high energy levels and a figure that isn’t weak and unshapen. These body gains are here for a good time and a long time!

Leave Your Comfort Zone

A big part of weight-gaining exercises includes pushing your boundaries so you can gain muscle mass. But sometimes, we overestimate our She-Hulk strength which can lead to minor or serious injuries.

Why test it?

Increasing your mobility allows your body to recover faster and adjust easier so you can continue growing. So, when you’re pushing through those top 5 best glute exercises, we recommended, you can surpass your goals even faster! Try incorporating some of these mobility-enhancing exercises into your pre-workout routines.

Glute-Focused Mobility Exercises

  • Child’s Pose into Downward Facing Dog
  • These are well-known yoga poses but rotating between them a few times with some big deep breaths can really enhance mobility.

  • Frog Pose to a Deep Squat
  • We know it might sound silly, but this hip stretch will make a huge difference in your squats and kickbacks. Start off in a deep squat, hold for a few seconds, then place your hands on the ground lowering your chest to the floor.

Spread your legs further apart as you try to get your chest as low as you can. Hold for a few seconds, then return to your squat.

  • Hip Circles
  • Your hips can’t lie with this one. Lay on the floor with one leg extended and the other bent with your knee facing the ceiling. Start making circles with your knee progressively bigger each cycle. Try rotating 20 times then switch legs.

  • Lateral Lunges
  • We all know there are various forms of lunges, but these in particular will wake those hips and prevent groin strains.

  • Frog Bridge
  • This one adds a little pizazz to the hips and glutes by building stability and mobility. Do a standard bridge but move your legs into the butterfly position so your hips and glutes are extra activated as you lift on each rep.
